Institute for Family | Branding
The Institute for Family (IFF) is dedicated to advocating for family well-being and strengthening communities in North Carolina. To support their mission, I developed a comprehensive branding toolkit that enhances consistency and impact across all visual communications.
Through the creation of strategic brand assets, I helped IFF strengthen its visual identity, ensuring that its advocacy for families is communicated with clarity, warmth, and impact.
I USED: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop + Google Slides
TO PERFORM: Design + Art Direction
BRAND GUIDELINES
While IFF had a strong brand mark, it lacked the foundation—and brand guidelines—needed to assist program administrators as they prepare presentations and training programs. I developed the color family, logo variations, brand applications (i.e. email signatures, stationery, and presentation templates) and do’s/don’ts shown below. The internal marketing department was to complete the verbiage, hence the placeholder text shown.
PHOTOGRAPHY MOOD BOARD
A photography mood board establishes a cohesive visual direction, ensuring consistency across all brand imagery. It defines the brand’s aesthetic, evokes emotion, and serves as a guide for content creation, helping designers and program directors align with the brand’s identity. For IFF, the mood board I created helped refine their visual storytelling via examples, ensuring their advocacy for families was communicated with warmth, authenticity, and emotional resonance.
CAMPAIGN LOGOS
Using the IFF logo as inspiration along with brand fonts and colors, I created logos for the new Family First Pledge campaign that rearrange the elements of the IFF logo into a family.
PRESENTATION TEMPLATES
Using brand fonts, colors, and suggested photography from the mood board I created (above) along with some custom iconography, these templates created “grab-and-go” layouts for IFF’s program administrators to build presentations that were on-brand and full of life.
WEBINAR FOLLOW UP HANDOUT
I designed a format for all follow-up pieces that were emailed to webinar participants post-session. Each handout encouraged attendees to reflect on the information shared and how they can utilize it in their community.
